COLLISION OF FORM
Compass Studio was given the opportunity to transform an older home in Bratenahl by crafting a contemporary addition meant to collide with the existing house. At every level, we apply quality thought and design decisions. We wanted to create an interior that reflected the collision of design that was inspired by the exterior.

The Client was obsessed with the detail and charm of the existing home but had a desire to explore something more modern with the addition. So that became our obsession. Weaving the old and new, traditional, and modern into the form, experience, and detail. The problem was how to create a modern addition that fused with the old stone bungalow, stood out on its own, and became an extension of the forest it pierced.
ELEVATED CHARM
​The heart of the home comes to life with a kitchen renovation that captures both beauty and functionality in equal measure. Central to this transformation is the intricate custom cabinetry that envelops every wall, creating a seamless flow of craftsmanship throughout the space. The island, with its standout detailing and rich stained finish, serves as the kitchen's focal point, drawing eyes with its elegant design and inviting warmth. Above all, the kitchen remains light and airy, a testament to thoughtful design choices that maximize both natural and artificial light. This renovation merges aesthetic appeal with practicality, ensuring the kitchen is not only a place for culinary creation but also a haven of inspiration and serenity.
